The University of Illinois (UIUC), College of Fine and Applied Arts awards up to 6 yearlong fellowships for promising advanced study in the fine arts. The Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship is also partially funded by the John Robert Gregg Fund at Community Funds, Inc., and The New York Community Trust. The fellowship was created in honor of Kate Neal Kinley, a University of Illinois graduate who studied music and performance and was dedicated to the arts.
Stipend: Stipends of $20,000 for art, architecture, dance, theatre, or urban and regional planning. $20,000 for instrumental or vocal music, architectural design and history, art and design, theatre, or dance. $20,000 in any field of music.
Open to graduates of the College of Fine and Applied Arts of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Also open to graduates of similar institutions of equal educational standing whose major studies have been in the fine arts fields. The place of study may be in America or abroad. Study can be at an approved educational institution. OR, with an approved private teacher. OR, in independent study. Applicants must submit a portfolio, essays, CD, DVDs, publications, or play depending on their specific area of study. 3 letters of reference. Transcript. Resume. No age limitation, but other factors being equal, preference will be given to applicants under 25 years of age.
