The application is for all continuing UCLA graduate students who wish to be considered for Division of Graduate Education merit-based awards in 2026-27. Awards are not automatically renewable. Students must apply yearly, as applicable. If you are a US citizen or permanent resident, we urge you also to apply for need-based financial aid. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available from the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office or at studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.
Please note that students in self-supporting programs are not eligible to apply for any Division of Graduate Education awards. Visit the registrar’s website for more details.
Tuition and fees for most doctoral and master’s programs are about $21,115 per year for California residents, and about $36,297 annually for non-California residents.
Students are notified via e-mail as soon as award decisions are made, from Spring through early Fall. Do not expect notification before April. If applicants have not received an email after the published Decision date, they should contact their staff graduate advisor/Student Affairs Officer.
Students are encouraged to review the Continuing Student Award Application Training Guide. View your submitted application, status of letters of recommendation requests, and award decisions. For more details, visit UCLA Graduate Education Scholarship Webpage
