University of Michigan (UMich) awards a yearlong postdoctoral fellowship to scholars teaching and researching Africa or the African diaspora. This is a residential fellowship at UMich, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The fellowship lasts for 1 academic year. Fellows will teach a 5-6 week "mini-course" about special research topics in Afroamerican and African studies. They will also present in a colloquium.
Stipend: Included in the package is a stipend of $52,000, which also includes health insurance, a total of $3,000 to support research and scholarly travel expenses, and up to $1,000 for the cost of relocation to Ann Arbor.
Must have a PhD in hand from an institution other than the University of Michigan and be no more than 5 years beyond the completion of the degree. Cover letter. CV. Research proposal.
