University of Michigan PPIA Junior Summer Institute 2027

For over four decades, the Ford School has hosted a Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) Junior Summer Institute—an intensive seven-week summer program that focuses on preparing undergraduate students from all over the United States for graduate programs in public policy and international affairs. Courses focus on leveling-up students’ communication and quantitative reasoning skills, which are vital to their success in graduate programs. These include statistics, microeconomics, and a writing course for the full seven weeks of the program, as well as shorter 2-3 week policy modules on a specific policy topic.

Requirements

• Applicants must graduate between December 2027, or between May and August 2028
• Eligibility: Undergraduate students graduating in December 2027 or between May and August 2028. Check the official application for any citizenship or residency requirements.
• International students who are enrolled at U.S.-based institutions are eligible to apply only to the Princeton program.
• Applicants must be motivated to contribute to the current perspectives.
• The financial status of applicants will be considered before granting scholarship.
