Are you interested in using mathematical, computational, and interdisciplinary approaches to explore questions that don't fit neatly within one field?
Do you want to discover new theories for systems that adapt, evolve, and have complex interactions?
The SFI Undergraduate Complexity Research (UCR) program is an immersive 10-week experience in complexity science research. Each student works closely with one or more SFI researchers to develop and pursue an original research project. During the first weeks of the program, students explore potential research directions, meet with researchers, and refine their ideas into projects that can make meaningful progress over the summer.
UCR participants receive a $7,000 stipend over the course of the program, along with housing and meals provided at no cost during their residential stay. Travel support to and from Santa Fe, New Mexico, is also provided.
