Fourth Degree Pro Deo and Pro Patria Scholarships Offered by Knights of Columbus 2026

At its 1965 meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, the Supreme Council established the Pro Deo and Pro Patria Scholarship Trust to provide undergraduate scholarships of $1,000 each at The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., with scholarships available to members and sons and daughters of members and two scholarships available to Columbian Squires. While a specific number of scholarships continue to be dedicated to The Catholic University of America, the program has expanded over the years to include other Catholic universities and colleges. In 1991, the award was increased from $1,000 per year to $1,500 per year.

Benefits

The maximum scholarship is $1,500 per year, renewable each year of undergraduate study to a total of four years, upon evidence of satisfactory performance and subject to the discretion of the Department of Scholarships

Requirements

An applicant must be:

• Entering freshman year, of a four-year, undergraduate program, leading to a bachelor's degree, at a Catholic college or Catholic university, in the United States.
• A member in good standing of the Knights of Columbus, a son or daughter of such a member, or of a such a deceased member, who at the time of death, was in good standing, or a Columbian Squire in good standing. (Not limited to Fourth Degree members.)
