2025 Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) Fellowship at University of Wisconsin

 

The Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN) fellowships aim to support eligible graduate students who are committed to contribute to physics research in critical national priority areas while developing skills that will make them effective teachers and educators. A GAANN fellow may be supported via this program for multiple semesters.

Requirements

The UW-Madison Physics GAANN fellowship is open to students who:

  • Are either currently enrolled or applying to the Ph.D. program in Physics at UW-Madison.
  • Have an excellent academic record as exemplified by undergraduate or graduate transcript and commitment to research.
  • Have demonstrable financial need based on information on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Are United States citizens, nationals, permanent residents, or can provide evidence from the Immigration and Naturalization Service that they are in the process of becoming permanent residents of the United States.
