2026 Spring/Summer BMW Group Internship in Financial Operations & Business Analytics

The internship will provide exposure to various aspects of financial reporting, controlling, and accounting within a global automotive finance organization. The intern will have the opportunity to develop skills in:

  • Data analysis
  • Financial Reporting and Controlling
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Cross-functional collaboration

The key focus areas of the internship include developing competencies in financial analysis, data management, process optimization, risk management, internal controls, and business intelligence. The intern will gain hands-on experience working across different functions and collaborating with stakeholders to support the organization's financial operations and strategic decision-making. This is a part-time internship position for our Spring Rotation, from March 23rd, 2026 to September 18th, 2026 in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $25.30

The hourly rate for Graduate students is $32.20

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university 
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have completed at least 60 college credit hours at time of application 
  • Field of study: Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)
  • Relevant coursework or prior internship experience in finance, accounting, or data analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and creating impactful dashboards and reports
  • Familiarity with financial reporting and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials)
  • Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting techniques
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to identify trends, patterns, and insights from data
  • Aptitude for financial analysis, including variance analysis, cost analysis, and performance tracking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present findings and recommendations
  • Collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with various stakeholders, both internally and externally
