The Leifur Eiriksson Foundation offers support for up to 4 U.S. individuals to research and study at universities in Iceland. The Foundation is dedicated to fostering educational and scientific advancements and for providing recognition and financial assistance to further scholarly study and research between Iceland and the United States. Fellows will go to Iceland and may enroll in a master's program at University of Iceland, work on their dissertation, or be a postdoctoral research associate.
Stipend: Up to $25,000 in project costs, including travel to and from the research or study site will be paid on the scholar’s behalf.
Must be admitted to a graduate program at an accredited institution in the US. Have a well defined research project that necessitates an exchange to the host country. Have English language proficiency. 3 letters of reference. For doctoral candidates or recent doctoral degree recipients, 1 letter should be from the applicant's principal advisor. For applicants who have not completed a terminal degree: transcripts.
