The Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program may be available to you as a veteran attending New York University.
The program is a scholarship designed to help students supplement their Post 9/11 GI Bill® tuition benefits and was instituted as a provision as part of the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008.
As part of the program:
As an undergraduate at New York University, you may receive a combination of veteran’s benefits, Yellow Ribbon benefits, and NYU scholarship that amounts to, but does not exceed, the cost of your tuition and fees.
If you are a graduate student receiving Yellow Ribbon funds, you should check with your school to see if your scholarship or institutional aid eligibility will be affected.
Undergraduate and graduate students receiving Yellow Ribbon funds may find other sources of financial aid, as well, if the total amount being awarded exceeds the cost of attendance.
To qualify, you must:
If you meet this criteria you can apply for the Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) using the VA Form 22-1990. This form also includes instructions you’ll need to begin the process of applying.
You must apply through the VA to qualify for additional Yellow Ribbon funds.
If you qualify, the Department of Veterans Affairs will issue a Certificate of Eligibility to you. After you have been issued this certificate, please contact:
