The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) funds recent PhD recipients for up to 3 years for research activities. This award is designed to enhance the academic careers of recent PhD recipients by providing support for research activities related to the goals of ASHRAE. Award winners will put their engineering and research engineering skills to use. The recipient is expected to contribute to the viability of ASHRAE's engineering effort.
Stipend: Base grant of $50,000 per year in the first two years. Addition award of $25,000 in the third year if matched by another source.
Applicants must be nominated by their Department Head or Chairman. Nominees must be within 5 years of receiving a PhD or an equivalent degree. Nominees must be within 5 years of the start of their first full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty position or equivalent at their nominating institution.
