The Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission offers 1 postdoctoral fellowship enabling US scientists to do postdoctoral research at a UK university for 2 years. Engineers and scientists will receive fellowships ranging a duration from 1 to 2 years. Fellows can also carry out research at a British research institute. This fellowship strives to help fellows gain an understanding and appreciation of contemporary Britain, and to help them contribute to the advancement of knowledge in science and technology at Britain's centres of academic excellence. Candidates will use their good communications skills and the potential to promote British-American understanding.
Stipend: Stipends will vary according to the circumstances of each fellow. Fellowships will cover lab fees or a research support grant, travel, and living and housing expenses.
Must hold a doctorate in a Science or Engineering subject by the time they take up the fellowship. Preference will be given to candidates who combine high academic ability with the capacity to play an active part in the life of the UK university or research institute to which they go. Preference will also be given to those who display a potential to make a significant contribution to their own society.
