Requirements
- Be enrolled or enrolling in an undergraduate degree program at Appalachian State University which is one of the constituent institutions of The University of North Carolina
- Note: the recipient university will rotate among the sixteen constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina in subsequent award years
- Be a resident of North Carolina for tuition purposes
- Be nominated by the financial aid office of the school he/she plans to attend
- Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Have demonstrated academic achievement (as indicated by class rank, cumulative GPA, and SAT scores), leadership, and financial need
