Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025

The Ford Foundation offers 24 yearlong postdoctoral fellowships for high-achieving scholars who aspire to teach and research at the college or university level. Through its program of Fellowships, the Ford Foundation, the National Research Council (NRC), and the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medcine seeks to increase the diversity of the nation’s college and university faculties. Fellows engage in 9 to 12 months of research, in association with a faculty host, at a university, lab, or non-profit institute. Every fellow will plan a a study of research that will guide them towards enhancing their career in higher education.

Stipend: Stipends of $50,000

Requirements

Applicants are to have earned a PhD or ScD degree within the last 7 years, but no later than November of application year. Should be committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level. Plan of research with bibliography. Dissertation abstract. 3 contacts who will write a letter of recommendation for the applicant. Name and contact information for host mentor/colleague. Membership in one or more of the following under-represented groups will be considered a positive factor: Alaska Natives (Aleuts, Eskimos or other Indigenous People of Alaska), Black/African-Americans, Mexican Americans/Chicanas/Chicanos, Native American Indians, Native Pacific Islanders (Hawaiians/Polynesians/Micronesians), or Puerto Ricans.
