He established the Donald and Helen Morrison Scholarship in Business at Governors State University, which benefits deserving students in the College of Business and Public Administration.  “I am glad that I can help them to achieve a college degree,” Don said. “They work hard and it’s good to know the scholarship can assist them in reaching their goal, and succeeding in life.”

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen and Illinois resident.

  • Students must express an interest in a career involving an entrepreneurial role in business or industry with a preference to be given to students interested in pursuing a career in retail business.

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree seeking student in good academic standing at GSU.

  • Must be enrolled (or enrolling) in a minimum of 6 credit hours.

    • The letter should testify to the student's commitment to their chosen major and career aspirations, including a demonstration of the student's leadership abilities.

  • Please submit a biographic essay roughly 500 - 1000 words (max character limit 6,000), discussing the reasons you chose your major, commitment to your major choice, reasons for choice of and commitment to your career goals and aspirations. Please include how this award will impact your education.
