The Center for Engaged Scholarship offers five dissertation fellowships intended to support graduate students whose research advances progressive values. The Center's goal is to generate new ideas and first-rate scholarship that have the power to contribute to progressive change. It promotes and support scholarship that can move us to a society that is more egalitarian, more democratic, and committed to environmental sustainability.
Stipend: Stipend of $35,000 paid out over a nine (9) month period.
Must be Ph.D students in the social sciences who have already completed all departmental and institutional requirements for the Ph.D degree, including approval of dissertation proposal. The only requirement not completed must be the writing and where required, the defense, of the dissertation. Must be enrolled in a U.S. Ph.D program. Description of dissertation and narrative of timeline for completing dissertation. Two essays. CV. Unofficial transcripts. Evidence of advancement to candidacy. 3 letters of recommendation from professors.
