Department of Geological Sciences Faculty - Coppel Graduate Science Award at California State University - Fullerton 2025

This scholarship was established by Lynn and Claude Coppel in fall 1995. Prior to her retirement in 1992, Mrs. Coppel worked for 24 years as the science reference librarian at CSUF. Her husband, Claude, was a research supervisor with Chevron Oil Field Research in the production department, where he served for 27 years prior to his retirement in 1992. Chevron Oil Field Research is a matching donor for this scholarship, furthering its impact on supporting graduate students in the Geological Sciences Department at California State University, Fullerton.

Requirements

Open to CSUF students who meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current graduate student in Geological Sciences.
  • Demonstrate high-quality performance in coursework and research.
  • Plan to enroll in at least 6 units in the upcoming fall semester.

 

Interview Dates and Process

Recipients will be selected based on academic and research performance, as recommended by the full-time faculty of the Geological Sciences Department. This award recognizes excellence in graduate studies with a $3,000 scholarship.
