David L. Willoughby Scholarship at California State University - Fullerton 2025

This scholarship is given in memory of the late David Willoughby, an alumnus of the Department of Geological Sciences. His family established the award in recognition of David’s passion for sedimentary geology and paleontology.This scholarship is open to undergraduate students studying geology or paleontology, or those participating in course-related fieldwork.

Requirements

Open to CSUF students who meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated financial need by filing the 2025–26 FAFSA or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
  • Enrollment as an undergraduate with a declared major in Geology at CSU Fullerton.
  • Good academic standing with the University.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in Geological Sciences

Interview Dates and Process

Recipients will be selected by the faculty of the Department of Geological Sciences.

How To Apply

 

1. Log into your CSUF portal and click on the “Scholarships” app on the left-hand side. Follow the onscreen instructions and complete the "Spring 2026 CSUF Scholarship Application."
2. In the "Course Enrollment and Research Interests" section of the Student Application, check off the following option:

  • "I am studying geology, paleontology, or participating in course-related fieldwork."
