This scholarship was established by emeriti faculty Phillip Armstrong and Tish Butcher to promote undergraduate student attendance at professional meetings.
Open to CSUF students who meet the following criteria:
Current Earth Science and Geology undergraduate students attending professional conferences or meetings.
A conference research presentation is not required.
Recipients will be selected based on the completeness of their application and alignment with the award criteria. Recipients will be recognized for their initiative in pursuing professional development opportunities.
1) Log into your CSUF portal and click on the “Scholarships” app on the left-hand side. Follow the onscreen instructions and complete the "Spring 2026 CSUF Scholarship Application".
2) In the "Involvement in Clubs or Organizations" section of the Student Application, check off the following option: "I am a current Earth Science or Geology student and plan to attend a professional conference or meeting."
3) In the "Supplemental Materials – Attachments" section of the scholarship application, upload the following:
A copy of the conference program or a document showing travel date(s) and location.
A detailed travel budget.
