Citizens Equity First Credit Union (CEFCU) has a long history of assisting its membership in securing adequate financial support for higher education. CEFCU recognizes the benefits to the entire community when opportunities for a college education are within the reach of deserving and talented students. In recognition of CEFCU's commitment to higher education and Illinois State University's ongoing educational excellence, the CECFU Member Appreciation Scholarship has been established.
The $2,500 scholarship may be awarded each year to students meeting the criteria specified below. The number of awards is based on available funding. The CEFCU Member Appreciation Scholarship is a nonrenewable award.

1. Enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment at Illinois State University on a full-time enrollment basis (12 hours or more) in an undergraduate program of study.
2. Applicants must remain in good academic and disciplinary standing with the University.
3. Be a CEFCU member with at least 6 months of membership at the time you submit the scholarship application. Recipients must be and remain a member in good standing and in good social standing, as determined by CEFCU's leadership team.
4. Minimum cumulative high school, transfer, or ISU GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
5. Preference is given to students with a demonstrated financial need, although the scholarships are not solely based on financial need. Demonstrate unmet financial need as determined by filing the 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Scholarships will be available to all students regardless of age, race, sex, or program of study.
The scholarships will not be available to CEFCU employees, current/former CEFCU officers and directors/volunteers, or immediate family members of current/former CEFCU officers and directors/volunteers. Immediate family members are defined as related by blood or marriage to a parent, spouse, child, sibling, or grandparent.
Note: Applicants must not have previously received a CEFCU Member Appreciation Scholarship.
The application deadline is at 11:59 pm on February 6, 2026.
Scholarships will be awarded for the 2026-2027 academic year.
